Assisted conception

Assisted conception refers to medical interventions used by fertility specialists and clinics to help couples with fertility problems conceive a baby. If you’re having difficulties conceiving naturally, Dr Tween can suggest a range of options, including ovulation induction, artificial insemination and IVF.

Ovulation induction is a simple fertility treatment that involves taking oral or injectable medication to encourage ovulation and by timing intercourse, increases the chance of conception.

Artificial insemination involves ovulation induction followed by placing washed sperm directly into the uterine cavity at the time of ovulation to improve the chance of pregnancy.

In-vitro fertilisation (IVF) is a procedure where eggs are retrieved from a woman’s ovaries and fertilised with sperm in a laboratory. The embryos are incubated in the laboratory before being transferred back into the uterus.

Whatever your circumstance, Dr Tween can use one or more of these assisted conception methods to give you the best chance of starting or adding to your family.
