Dr Tween graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1994 and trained in obstetrics and gynaecology in Canberra and Sydney. She obtained her specialist qualification from the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in 2004 and started practising IVF in 2005 at Sydney IVF (now Genea). Dr Tween has a Master of Reproductive Medicine from the University of New South Wales and is an experienced laparoscopic surgeon, having trained as a laparoscopic fellow at Sydney’s Liverpool Hospital. She has undertaken voluntary gynaecological and obstetrics work in the Northern Territory and the Solomon Islands.
As well as being a highly experienced and qualified Canberra infertility specialist, Dr Tween understands the emotional difficulties faced by her patients when investigating fertility and supports them with honest and practical personalised advice, delivered in a compassionate and empathetic manner. Dr Tween understands that fertility concerns can initially seem confusing, so she will always explain complex medical terminology using a plain-speaking, jargon-free approach.
The road to parenthood is often a demanding one, but Dr Tween is always ready for a challenge. She particularly enjoys helping her patients to overcome complex medical conditions and the joy of assisting same sex couples to create their much-longed-for families. As well as English, Dr Tween speaks fluent Mandarin and Cantonese.
